I found this article, it is brillant, apparently they are working on technology that stores energy from foot steps. If this works out you could put it everywhere and infinate source of renewable energy!
It would take the diffculties such as planning and distuption to the countryside/ envirnoment that renewable sources such as wind and hydro power can cause. Full article
